AYER — The Ayer girls track team improved to 4-0 on the season by rolling past Tahanto 93-42 and Parker School 102-34 in a tri-meet. The Lady Panthers showcased its depth, receiving solid contributions up and down the roster as a team effort keyed the victories.
Josslen Morris led the way with a pair of first-place finishes in the long jump with a leap of 15-9, and in the triple jump with a leap of 31-6. She also added two second-place finishes in the 100 meters.
Fortuna Fasulo notched two first-place finishes in the high jump with a leap of 4-10, and added a pair of seconds in the triple jump, and a second and third in the 400 intermediate hurdles.
Brynnan Farrington struck gold twice in the shot put with a toss of 34-8, and added a first and second in the discus (85-2).
Marissa Monge and Hannah Levensailor each enjoyed productive days. Monge earned first- and second-place finishes in both the 100 high hurdles (18.7) and the 400 intermediate hurdles (1:24.4). Levensailor picked up first- and second-place finishes in the 800 meters (2:48) and the mile (5:59).
Jillian Spann registered two first-place finishes in the 100 meters with a clocking of 13.6 and added a third in the javelin.
Katie Poitras earned a first- and second-place finish in the javelin with a toss of 80-9, and picked up a pair of thirds in the 200 meters. She was also a member of the Lady Panthers’ 4 X 100 relay team, along with Spann, Holly Caires and Jordan Sedor, that struck gold twice with a time of 55.7.
Ryleigh Levensailor finished first and second in the 2-mile in 13:15 while Caires finished first and second in the 200 meters (30.4).
Ayer’s final two first-place finishes on the day came from the 4 X 400 relay team of Alejandra Santos, Rosettle Nkanka, Rebecca Hugel and Ryleigh Levensailor, which defeated Tahanto with a time of 5:28, and from Elizabeth Stocks, who finished on top against Tahanto in the 400 meters with a time of 1:18.
Kendyl Trinque also enjoyed a productive afternoon for the Lady Panthers with a pair of seconds in the shot put, and a second and third in the discus.
