Jolene Sue Young died at her home in Greenville, N.H., surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Groton on Nov. 11,1959, daughter of Maureen (Leary) Young and the late Clyde D. Young. She spent her early life in Pepperell where she attended the schools and was a graduate of North Middlesex Regional High school, class of 1977.

She was a graduate of Hesser College in Nashua where she received an associate’s degree in business.

Jolene owned and operated Fox Pond Tavern in Loudon, N.H. for five years. Later, she graduated from Lowell Vocational School with a degree in nursing. She was later employed at The Highlands in Fitchburg as a licensed practical nurse.

Some of her many hobbies included remodeling her homes in Greenville and Laconia, N.H. Jolene also enjoyed her 1994 25th anniversary Pontiac Trans Am convertible.

She is survived by her son, Justin Young, and her mother, Maureen Young, of Greenville, N.H.; two sisters, Danelle Mallard of Winchendon and Monette “Moni” Briggs of Townsend; and her Aunt Evelyn J. Wisnosky of Gardner. She was the mother of the late Nathan Young and sister of the late Todd D. Young.

Visiting hours were held on Monday, May 2, at the Hamilton-McGAFFIGAN Funeral Home, 37 Main St. (Rte 113), Pepperell. Burial services will be private.
