GROTON — A pair of very strong squads tangled when the Bromfield boys tennis team traveled to Groton. The match went right down to the wire with the visitors earning a tough 3-2 victory.

Groton-Dunstable built an early advantage by capturing two of the three singles matches, but the Trojans rallied to pull out the win by sweeping the doubles matches.

Ryan Bunis of Groton-Dunstable was impressive in posting a straight-set victory against Bromfield’s Drew Banker, 6-4, 6-0.

Max Wertheimer of the Crusaders picked up a point when he outlasted James Bowling of the Crusaders, 7-6, 3-6 and 6-2.

Bromfield’s Ryan Holmes salvaged a singles point when he defeated Jack Niemoller, 6-1, 6-2.

Both Trojans’ doubles teams posted impressive wins in straight sets.

Carlson Beale and Matt Colony defeated Dustin McEvoy and James Gresock 6-0, 6-2.

Matt Zimmer and Josh Zimmer defeated Chris McKinney and Clayton Enright, 6-3, 6-0.
