The Friends of Shirley Council on Aging is pleased to announce the successful completion of the “Buy a Book, Buy a Book for a Senior” program. Over 150 Shirley telephone books have been delivered to the Senior Center for distribution to seniors. We would like to thank the following businesses and individuals that made this possible.

Businesses that provided telephone books for seniors are Law Offices of Ernest Hyde, Phoenix Park, Anderson Family Funeral Homes, Cargill Industries/Horizon Milling, Visiting Angels, Senate Construction, Catalano Industries/Dunkin’ Donuts, Phoenix Bar and Grill, McNiff Enterprises, Right At Home Home Care, Harvard Chiropractic, Tiny’s Restaurant, Devens Grill, Great Road Automotive, Joyce’s Pie Shop, Gionet’s Auto Repair, Barrett Auto Body, Burlington Auto Parts, Shirley Automotive Garage, Sandi’s Beauty Shoppe, Great Wall Restaurant, Custom Courier, Countryside Tile, Wood Fuel and Gas, Farnsworth Lumber, Tremblay’s Garage, Tri-City Marine, Airport Sales, Demers Tires, Sparkle Cleaning, P. N. Laggis, Ayer Oil, Senior Care Advisors, and Whitney Oil of Clinton.

Individuals who donated a book are Barbara Schmuck (in memory of her mother, Evelyn “Lovie” Moore), Charlene Shorey, Elizabeth Sheldon, Mark McElroy, Charlie Church, Alvin Collins, Sharon Higgins, Deb Delaite, Marge Watt, the Muchata Family, Mabel T. Sawyer, and an anonymous donor.

We wish to thank the above individuals and businesses for their support as well as all the people and businesses who purchased a copy of the Shirley telephone book and all the volunteers without whom this fundraiser would not have been successful. Shirley seniors are the recipients of your time and generosity.
