SHIRLEY — SHIRLEYARTS! is holding auditions for older teens and adults for the murder-mystery comedy The Butler Did It Again by Tim Kelly with director Lezli Whitehouse.

Auditions will be Sunday, Feb. 27, at 2:30 p.m. and Tuesday, March 1 at 6:30 p.m. at Ayer-Shirley Middle School, One Hospital Road.

Rehearsals will be Sunday afternoons and Tuesday nights with performances April 29 and 30.

Characters needed include Miss Maple, a book publisher and socialite who enjoys giving amusing parties, Jane Doe, her social secretary, Chips, the family retainer, Mrs. Danvers, the housekeeper, Linda Hayes, an unexpected guest, The Mystery Writers, Chandler Marlowe, Rick and Laura Carlyle, Tony Tall Chief, Louie Fan, Father White, and Ruth Dice.

Volunteers to help build and paint and decorate the set are also needed.

Perusal scripts will be on reserve at Shirley’s Hazen Memorial Library.
