LOWELL — NMTW Community Credit Union (NMTW CCU) has partnered with WKLB Country 102.5 to present “J.W. and Lori’s Teacher of the Month.” NMTW Community Credit Union sponsored the contest in which listeners were asked to send an e-mail to the radio station about their favorite teacher who goes above and beyond the call of duty for his or her students. September’s winner was Rachel Brophy of Pepperell. She teaches first grade at the Joseph A. McAvinnue Elementary School in Lowell.

Brophy, who helped make the holiday season extra special for her students last year, received gift certificates to Elizabeth Grady and Lakeshore Learning as part of her prize pack. Also, NMTW CCU and WKLB threw a pizza party for her class and handed out giveaways as part of the celebration. “We are eager to be working with WKLB on such a great program,” stated NMTW CCU President and CEO Ken Del Rossi. “To be able to recognize a teacher who is having such a positive impact on her students and has truly gone above and beyond for them is exciting for us.”
