SHIRLEY — Alice LeFavre (Newhall) Farnsworth devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died Nov. 9, 2010 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born in Lunenburg on Oct. 17, 1930, daughter of the late Ellery D. and Sarah A. (Cunningham) Newhall. She was the wife of the late William P. “Skip” Farnsworth Jr. who died July 30, 2010 . She attended Lunenburg schools and was a graduate with honors of the Lunenburg High School Class of 1948 where she was also a member of the cheerleading squad.

She had been employed as a secretary by the former Trioli Insurance Co. in Groton and former Niagra Chemical Co. in Ayer. She had spent most of her life at Farnsworth Lumber Co. in Shirley, primarily as a bookkeeper, but served in many other capacities at the family business which has been in the Farnsworth family since 1837 and is still in operation. She was also a member of Ida McKinley Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed rug-hooking and dancing.

She is survived by her daughter Pam Norstrom of Ayer and her son Ken Farnsworth of Shirley. She also leaves her grandchildren, Kiersten McRae, Jessica Norstrom, Jason Norstrom, Justin Farnsworth, Ryan Farnsworth, Chad Farnsworth and Tim Farnsworth all of Ayer and Shirley. She also leaves her great-grandchildren, Kyle McRae, Kalen McRae, Kameron McRae and Kylie Norstrom all of Ayer and Tyngsboro. She is also survived by a sister Donna Mann of Wildwood, Fla. She was also the sister of the Late Ellery “Snapper” Newhall Jr.
