AYER — James R. Holloway, 73, died Sunday, November 7, 2010, at his home.
Mr. Holloway was born in Sweetwater, Tennessee, August 13, 1937, a son of Sam Austin and Lynne Belle Holloway, and has resided in Ayer for nearly50 years.
He leaves his wife of 50 years, Kim Holloway, a son, James R. Holloway Jr. of Ayer; three daughters, Debra Holloway of Ayer, Annette Holloway Ladd of Little Compton, RI., Tammy Palmer of Georgia; six brothers, Sam Austin Holloway Jr., Ronald Holloway, Dewey Holloway, David Holloway, Leon Holloway and Jerry Holloway all of Knoxville, Tennessee, two sisters, Marylou Morgan of Knoxville and Betty Holloway of Florida. He also leaves six grandchildren.
Mr. Holloway worked at EPIC Industries-Pepsi in Ayer for 37 years before failing health forced him to stop working earlier this year.
During the Korean Conflict he served his country for six years in the United States Army.
He was an active member of St. Mary Church in Ayer and had been a longtime participant to the annual Lawn Party.
He was a member of the Ayer Gun & Sportsman’s Club and the American Legion Post in Ayer.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 12th, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 31 Shirley Street, Ayer. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
