North Middlesex prepares for June Project Graduation

PUBLISHED: | UPDATED:

Dear students and families:

Welcome to the 2010-11 school year. As students are settling into their studies, many adults are already busy at work planning for the very exciting time in June when the North Middlesex Regional High School class of 2011 will graduate.

Among these adults are volunteers working with Project Graduation. For those of you who may not be familiar with Project Graduation, it is an all-night, alcohol and drug-free celebration for our graduates. It takes place at the high school on graduation night. The school is transformed into different countries and the evening is filled with entertainment, games and a nonstop food buffet right through to breakfast. There are prizes, photos, giveaways and memories to last a lifetime. It has proven to be a huge success in its seventh year of existence here at NMRHS. More importantly, Project Graduation is a safe alternative to party-hopping, keeping our graduates off the roads and allowing parents to rest easy, knowing their son/daughter is celebrating safely. This is all offered to the senior class free of charge.

As lucky as we are to have Project Graduation at our school, it takes a lot to achieve this endeavor. It takes many volunteers , many hours of planning and preparation and a great deal of funds raised to be successful. Therefore, the Project Graduation fundraising committee is sponsoring a Calendar Holiday Raffle. Our payout month will be December.

Throughout December, we will pay out daily cash prizes ranging from $50 – $500. For a $10 donation per ticket, a buyer will have 31 chances to win. We are asking each family to sell four raffle tickets. A minimum of 500 tickets must be sold.

We hope you find that these tickets will be great to sell as they are for such a good cause. They will also make nice holiday gifts for family and friends. Thirty-one chances to win!!! Our goal is to raise enough funds to finance the Class of 2011 celebration.

Please return the ticket portion on other side along with your payment. Checks should be made payable to “NMRHS Parent Group” with “PG raffle” in the memo box. Make sure all information is complete and legible. Checks will be mailed to the winners. Should you need any additional calendars to sell, please feel free to make copies or you can contact me and I can e-mail /mail some out to you.

Thank you for helping to benefit Project Graduation as we continue to support all of our children throughout Townsend, Ashby and Pepperell.

Kind regards,

DORIS LANDRY
