SHIRLEY — Many seniors like to do crafts. Some do them at home by themselves, some do them with friends. But there’s another option, come to the senior center and bring your friends. You can enjoy a cup of coffee, meet new friends and perhaps learn or teach something new.
The center is open for crafters to socialize and work on their projects on Thursdays from noon to 3 p.m. The Class of the Month — earrings with Mona — will be held on Thursday, Oct. 28, from 1-3 p.m.
The senior center will also be sponsoring a table at a number of holiday fairs this fall. Handmade creations are welcomed.
Center officials said line dancing, which has been a popular event since the center opened, has recently experienced a drop in attendance. As a result, line dancing will cease at the end of October if participation does not increase.
