After watching last night’s Board of Selectmen meeting in Ayer, I can plainly see in what direction the town is heading.
The meeting made me totally disgusted with this board and all the flip-flopping that I saw. It seems to me that rules that are in place are only made for certain people. This board is so wrapped up in its own “pet projects” that it seems to have no time for doing the business of the taxpayer of Ayer.
When will the taxpayer of Ayer finally come first? Stop spending and giving away the taxpayers’ hard-earned money. Stop changing the rules as you go along and start making good “common sense” decisions; it’s OUR money, so stop and think before you make that decision.
I also think that maybe the block grant program needs to be looked into. It seems to me this program is being abused and the selectmen are saying that it’s OK.
So many bad decisions are being made an it’s hurting the people of this town. If I couldn’t get a loan at the bank, would you use taxpayers’ money to help me? No, so stop giving people in the block grant program “free rides” at the taxpayers’ expense.
In about another month you will be having your yearly meeting with the assessors and discussing the property tax rate. Now is the time to start thinking how to CUT SPENDING and LOWER the tax rate for the residents of Ayer. The time has come to help the people that pay the bills.
Stop rushing the meetings and be open-minded about what all the members have to say. The residents and taxpayers of Ayer are depending on your leadership as a board. Let’s hope we are not disappointed.
