AYER — On Saturday, Sept. 18, the Ayer Greenway Committee will host a family hike and rock scramble. The event is designed for young families with children ages 6 to 12.
We will meet at the trailhead on Harvard-Groton Road at 9 a.m. After a hike to Porcupine Hill, we will access the rock escarpment that offers easy but steep climbs with caves and chimneys that will be good fun for young kids. All children should be accompanied by a parent, and should wear sturdy play clothes and shoes. After about an hour of “play time,” we will hike back out and be done no later than noon.
