TOWNSEND — On Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Townsend Police Department, working in cooperation with the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration, will be involved in the first-ever nationwide Drug Take-back Initiative that seeks to prevent increased pill abuse and theft as well as to protect the environment and prevent health hazards.

Anyone wishing to dispose of prescription drugs that are unused, unwanted or expired may dispose of those medications by bringing them to the Townsend Police/Communications Center located at 70 Brookline Road, Townsend.

This is one-day event at the date and time listed above is free of charge, and is totally anonymous, with no questions asked.
