Author Rule to speak at Friends of the Townsend Seniors meeting Sept. 22

TOWNSEND — The Friends of the Townsend Seniors will hold their annual meeting at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 22, at the Meeting Hall, 12 Dudley Road.

Bill Roberts, president of the Friends, explains that the program will include a recap of the year, the featured speaker and refreshments.

The guest speaker is talented storyteller, author, and humorist Rebecca Rule. Her books and short stories include “The Best Revenge,” and “Could Have Been Worse: True Stories, Embellishments and Outright Lies.” Rule is best known for her live presentation of humorous stories based upon New England characters she has known and heard about over the years.

The program is funded by a grant from Townsend’s Amanda Dwight Entertainment Fund. Plan to attend, meet Rebecca Rule and enjoy her homespun New England humor. The program is free and open to the public.
