SHIRLEY — Shirley Shines, a new event, is bringing together more than 40 artisans, collectors, musicians, storytellers, photographers, crafters, and performers from town Sunday, Sept. 12.

Sponsored by the Shirley Charitable Foundation and the Historic Meetinghouse, Shirley Shines will be held throughout the Shirley Center area. A variety of crafts, art, photo displays, demonstrations, antique vehicles restored by local residents, storytelling, food and musical performances for all ages will be on the Center Town Common, Town Hall, the new Senior Center and Shirley’s Historic Meetinghouse.

The day’s programs will begin at 1 p.m., with scheduled events held throughout the afternoon, and concludes with a variety-show performance by local actors, singers and musicians in the Meetinghouse from 4-6 p.m.

An admission bracelet can be purchased the day of the event for $5 and will be good for admission to all events and venues throughout the day. Children younger than 12 who are accompanied by an adult will be admitted for free.

All proceeds will be shared by the Historic Meetinghouse, Center Town Hall and Shirley Senior Center to help with the maintenance and upkeep of those historic buildings.
