HARVARD — The Harvard Firefighters Association is holding the first fundraiser bike ride on Saturday, Sept. 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The ride is a memorial event for Ken Harrod, a longtime department member who died earlier this year. This will be an annual event.

There are three rides to choose from: a 32-mile trek (two loops), a 16-mile loop, and a 2-mile ride for kids.

Advance online registration is $25 (through Sept. 8) with discounts for families who sign up three or more riders. Registration the day of the bike ride is $30.

Proceeds benefit the Harvard Firefighters Association. Food will be provided by the Harvard Lions, and there will also be a silent auction.

Details and a link to the registration page can be found at http://harvardfire.com/bikeride.
