Assistant football coach needed at G-D

Shirley Jr. Legion fall/winter workouts

Baseball players interested in playing for Shirley Jr. Legion next summer should e-mail their interest to jimcanning@charter.net. To be eligible, a player cannot turn 18 anytime during the 2011 calendar year. Fall and winter workouts will be conducted.

Shirley Jr. Legion seeks players who love to crush baseballs and who would enjoy learning how to pitch and play defense during the off-season.

Bowlers needed

The mixed bowling league at Harvard Lanes is looking for men and women ages 15+ to join this fun, no-pressure bowling league. Any skill level is invited. You may join as an individual or bring in your own team of four bowlers. Couples may join together as well. This is a cash prize league with an end-of-season awards banquet. Come join us and have a fun night out this fall and winter. The league starts with a position round on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 7 p.m. Teams are formed by Sept. 14. Central Mass. Basketball Training

Get a jump on the season with the 2010 Central Massachusetts Basketball Training, a preseason developmental program hosted weekly by a different college or high-school coach. The program focus is on individual skill development.

The program will be Sundays starting Sept. 19 through Nov. 14 (no clinic Oct. 10) at the Fitchburg High School Field House. There will be two sessions each Sunday, from 1-2:30 p.m. for grades 8-12, and from 2:30-4 p.m. for grades 3-7.

Learn from the best college or high-school coaches in the area, coaches who have hosted Merrimack College, UMass Lowell, Notre Dame Prep., Assumption College, DWC, Wentworth, North Middlesex High School and Anna Maria College.

Be prepared for the start of your recreation, travel or high school basketball season.

Lunenburg football to mark milestone

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Lunenburg Blue Knight football. The 2010 team, coaching staff, and the Football Booster Club would like to invite those of you who were a part of this great milestone to help us celebrate during this year’s Homecoming festivities. The game is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 23, at 2:30 p.m.

Tryouts for the 2011 of Triple Play Batting Cages All-Star AAU season will be as follows:

U10 – Saturday, Sept. 11, Sept. 18 and Sept. 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nashoba Regional High School Softball Field

U11: Saturday, Sept. 11, Sept. 18 and Sept. 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nashoba Regional High School Softball Field

U12: Saturday, Sept. 11, Sept. 18 and Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Nashoba Regional High School Softball Field

U13: Sunday, Sept. 12, Sept. 19 and Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Nashoba Regional High School

U14: Sunday, Sept. 12, Sept. 19 and Sept. 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Nashoba Regional High School

U15: Sunday, Sept. 12, Sept. 19 and Sept. 26 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Nashoba Regional High School

Players will pay a one-time $50 tryout fee, which will be applied to the season fees for those making the team. Players are required to make two of the three dates listed.
