St. Anthony’s Bazaar in Shirley will kick off its festive weekend with its delicious and very famous Lobster and Clam Supper.
This year, the Bazaar will be held on Friday, August 6 and Saturday, August 7 (rate dates are August 13 and 14).
The lobster dinner will be served rain or shine beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday and has long been considered the traditional beginning of a weekend of food, fun and games. The lobsters always sell out, no matter how many we order, so be sure to get there early. Friday night will also feature homemade seafood chowder.
This year, the Saturday dinner will feature barbecued chicken and homemade chili. There will be assorted baked goods and delicious homemade pies available on both days for anyone who loves dessert.
Some highlights of the Bazaar this year include a Kiddie Land for ages two to eight, the Fire Department’s dunking booth (can we get Father D on the hot seat?), Chug-a-Lug for the over 18 crowd, and a large assortment of games for all ages. There is truly something for everyone with lots of prizes to win and lots of chances to take on the Giant Raffle, Chinese Auction or Pot Luck.
The White Elephant sale will be ongoing for two days. Items include household goods, linens, craft items, glassware, tools, Christmas and other holiday decorations and TOYS — lots and lots of toys! Many beautiful items have been donated; you’ll be surprised at the bargains you find.
Make sure to save the dates — Friday, August 6 and Saturday, August 7, from 5 to 10 p.m.
Come and join the fun at St. Anthony’s Parish, 14 Phoenix St., Shirley, (978-425-4588).
