Board of Assessors: Begins at VFW at 9 a.m., with parade and ceremonies along Main Street, at the bridge, at Townsend, the Community Church and the Park Street Cemetery.

Roast pork dinner: 4:30 to 6 p.m. Pepperell United Methodist Church is hosting a Roast Pork Dinner with roasted potatoes, vegetable, rolls and pie for dessert. Please come and join us. The cost is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $4 for children. The door prize you are automatically entered with a purchase of your supper ticket will be at 5:30 p.m. Located at 1 Chapel Place, Pepperell, Mass ( one block behind Dunkin Donuts).

Girl Scout recruitment night

Pepperell Girl Scout Troop 34391 will be holding a recruitment on Monday, June 14 at the Pepperell Community Center from 5-7 p.m. Come and see what the Girl Scout Program is all about! Bring your daughters and see how much fun it is to be in a troop.

There will be games, songs and snacks.

Adults can be Girl Scouts too! We are looking for adults to become members and volunteer as troop leaders. This is a fun way to get involved in your community and invest into the future. Training and local support is provided.

Electronics and Appliance Collection Day

Townsend Troop 10 Eagle Scout candidate Adam Reno will hold a collection day for electronics, printer cartridges and appliances on Saturday, June 5, in the back area of the Townsend Common from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers will unloads your car; cash preferred to pay disposal fees.

This collection is to benefit Boy Scout Adam Reno’s Eagle Project: The construction of a meditation circle in the Highland Street cemetery.

What’s happening at the Senior Center in May…

Love Cards? Mondays at 9:30 a.m. play Hand and Foot; Tuesdays at 10 a.m. is Cribbage and at 12:30 p.m. is Gin Rummy.

Love Yoga? You can come to the center on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. for Yoga with Patsy and Thursdays at 9 a.m. for Yoga with Elise.

Wii Sports continues with bowling on Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. and golf on Fridays at 9:30 a.m.

Sing with the Hot Shots is at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday mornings.

Lunch — Join our lunches on Wednesdays at noon. There is always something delicious to eat!! Follow lunch with a bit of Bingo fun. $1 buys 3 cards.

Exercise — Monday mornings at 10 a.m. and Friday mornings at 11:30 a.m. with Elaine.

Play the harmonica — On Tuesdays at 10 a.m.

Pickled Players Drama Group — Mondays at 1 p.m. New members welcome!

Decorative Painting begins. Donna Dewberry’s One Stroke Painting will be taught by one of Donna Lynch’s former students, Maureen Smith. The cost for this program is $15 for Pepperell residents and $25 for non-seniors and out of town residents. Please sign up and pay prior to the start of the session at the front desk.

Zumba Gold! Erica Donohoe of Rise and Shine Fitness has been Zumba Gold certified. Zumba is a form of Latin dance exercise. The cost for this program is $2 for Pepperell residents and $3 for nonseniors and out of town residents. Come give it a try!!!

Men’s Group! Come down to the Center for good conversation, coffee and something sweet. We will continue Friday mornings at 10:00 a.m. Joe Mazzola, our Veteran’s Agent, on May 18th. Please bring plenty of questions for Joe to answer!

June 9 at 5 p.m.

Pasta Dinner with Sheriff James DiPaola. The sheriff will be hosting a dinner of ziti and meatballs with cake and talking with guests on identity theft. Limited to 150 people. Please sign up at the front desk. This event is free of charge.

June 11 at 9 a.m.

Breakfast followed by a Prudence Wright reenactment of Pepperell’s role in the Revolutionary War and the history of Pepperell’s covered bridge. A $2 donation is requested for the breakfast.

June 12 at 8:30 a.m.

Friends of the Pepperell Seniors annual yard sale. This event runs until 2:00 p.m. Please remember to drop your items off the day before, Friday, June 11, NO SOONER THAN 10:30 a.m.

June 14 at 2 p.m.

Ninety’s Tea. Monday, June 14th at 2:00 we will host a tea for all of our Pepperell residents who are celebrating their 90th birthday this year or have in the past. Enjoy an afternoon with refreshments and entertainment with Gary Morin who plays the accordion. Please let us know if you are coming.

June 18 at 12:30 p.m.

Book Club: This month’s discussion will be about Sarah’s Key by Tatiana De Rosnay. Copies of this book will be made available at the Lawrence Library. Please come and discuss what you liked about the book. New members are always encouraged to come by!

June 21 at 1 p.m.

Ice Cream Social sponsored by Senior Helpers, caring in-home companions. Join us for a delicious summertime treat! This event is free of charge.

June 22 from 12:30 p.m.- 2:30 p.m.

Spring Rolls! Delia, one of our dedicated kitchen volunteers, has offered to cook her delicious spring rolls with a group of interested folks. And, yes, you can eat them once they are prepared! Please sign up at the front desk so we have the appropriate amount of supplies. This event is free of charge!

June 24 at 12 p.m.

Lunch at Scotch Pine Farm. The seniors have reserved seating at Scotch Pine Farm. $10 will pay for a delicious meal (tip not included). Please sign up and pay prior to the event at the front desk. There is a 15 person limit.

May 28 and June 4 and 11 from 12:30 -2:30 p.m.

Watercolor workshop continues with Linda Salisbury. The cost for this program is $30 for Pepperell residents and $45 for non-seniors and out of town residents. This cost includes supplies. You may pay Linda at the time of the first class.

Movie Matinee every Friday at 12:30 p.m.
