At its meeting of May 19, the School Committee:

* Re-elected Dunstable representative James Frey as chairman and Groton representative Allison Manugian as vice-chairman. The committee also welcomed new members John Giger and Leslie Lathrop who replaced former members Paul Funch and Peter Carson.

* Recognized the high school’s music students for their achievements at a music festival held in Philadelphia over the weekend of May 6. There, students were the overall winners against 28 other schools and won first place in the concert band, jazz band, chorus and chamber chorus categories. Also recognized as outstanding were the school’s soloists.

* Recognized the Middle School for being chosen by the Johns Hopkins Center program for Talented Youth as the No. 1 school in the region.
