Lady Crusaders complete-game winning pitcher Jess O’Sullivan dazzled the Rangers with a dominant effort, allowing two hits over seven innings while striking out a career-high 16. The shutout was the junior left-hander’s seventh of the season.

Breezy Riposa paced the Groton-Dunstable offense with a double, triple, two runs scored and three runs-batted-in. Stephanie Dodson was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a double and two runs scored, while Jackie Ordemann (two runs-batted-in), Kate Stowell (two hits, run scored, RBI), and O’Sullivan (two runs scored) were also productive.

Fitchburg 9

North Middlesex 8

The Red Raiders jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first and held off a North Middlesex rally to post a hard-fought MidWach A win on Friday afternoon.

Kate Fredrickson and Hayley Lynch each had three hits to lead the North Middlesex offense. Carla Clement added a single and triple while Danielle Goudreau scored a pair of runs.

Ashley Forgues and Taylor Seidl both scored two runs for the Red Raiders.

Ayer jumped on top with two runs in the first inning, only to see the Tigers finish the game with 10 unanswered runs. Brit Macri led Littleton’s 12-hit attack with four hits and three runs-batted-in while Sara Roth added a hit and two RBIs. Kirbie Garvey picked up the victory on the mound with a route-going seven-hitter, including 10 strikeouts.

Ayer, which dropped to 10-7 with the loss, was paced by Gina Gibson with a double and two singles, while Celiena DeBalsi added a pair of hits, a run scored and a run-batted-in.

The Crusaders earned a MidWach B victory, keyed by a complete-game effort on the mound by Travis Shaw, who spaced out 10 hits while striking out six.

Dan Ierardi led the Groton-Dunstable offense with a single, double, RBI and two runs scored, including a run-producing single in the bottom of the fifth that knocked in the decisive run. Mike Fotino was 3-3 for the Crusaders while Ryan Vultaggio added a hit.

The Rangers improved to 9-9 overall, including 5-7 in MidWach B by posting a league win over the Crusaders.

Mike Fotino deserved a better fate as he pitched well for the Crusaders, allowing no earned runs and five hits over five innings. Steve Fotino had a hit and both Groton-Dunstable runs-batted-in, while Marco diGrazia, Ryan Vultaggio and Paul Calderan also added hits for the Crusaders.

Narragansett 7

Ayer 6

The Warriors won the completion of a game that was halted because of rain earlier in the season. The contest was picked up in the top of the fourth inning with Narragansett leading 1-0.

Ryan Carroll led the Ayer offense by going 3-3 with a pair of runs scored. Kyle Larter, Luke Snyder and Ryan Coulter each added a hit and an RBI.
