Screening of ‘FRESH’ June 16
Groton Wellness, in association with the Groton Grange and Groton Local, have partnered with Groton Center Farms and the Natural Market of Groton, as well as the Springdell Farm in Littleton to offer an exciting event. You and your family are invited to enjoy a free community screening of the documentary film FRESH.
Uplifting and empowering, revolutionary and innovative, FRESH celebrates the farmers, thinkers and business people across America who are reinventing our food system. Produced and directed by Ana Sofia Joanes, this 2009 film highlights the incredible creativity and successes of individuals who have dedicated their lives to the production of local foods and to the idea of local sustainability. Joanes challenges the naysayers in conventional food production as she asserts that organic, ecological farming methods are viable and that healthier, sustainable alternatives are a practical vision for the future of our food and our community.
The film will be shown on June 16 at 7 p.m. at the Campbell Performing Arts Center, located at Groton School. There will be a discussion by a panel of experts and local farmers immediately after the screening to whom you may direct your questions about sustainability. Please join us for this exciting event!
