The Ashby Free Public Library is offering a free AED and CPR training to Ashby residents ages 16 and older. The training and the defibrillators are sponsored by a Nashoba Valley Community Healthcare Fund Grant. The grant, provided by the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts and the Greater Lowell Community Foundation, was awarded to the town to provide automated external defibrillators in the Ashby Elementary School, the Ashby Town Hall, and the Ashby Free Public Library. Classes will be offered May 5, 9 a.m. to noon at the Ashby Town Hall; May 5, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Ashby Elementary School, and May 8, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ashby Free Public Library. Interested Ashby residents should contact the library at 978-386-5377 to get more information and to sign up. There are a limited number of openings.
