Cops respond to two attacks on elderly Ayer residents

PUBLISHED: | UPDATED:

AYER — Police responded to two separate assault incidents this week in which the victims were over 60-years-old. The cases were unrelated.

On Monday, April 19 at 7:20 p.m., Ayer police arrested 39-year-old David John Indorato at his Magnolia Drive home after he was charged with assaulting his 65-year old father-in-law following a verbal argument. No injuries were reported to need medical attention.

Then, just after midnight on Sunday, April 25, a boyfriend and girlfriend were arrested and charged with attacking the girl’s 68-year-old father, an Ayer resident. Police were called to Autumn Ridge Drive and arrested the man’s daughter, 41-year old Lynn Frassica and her boyfriend, 47-year-old James DeFreidas. Both live in East Providence, R.I. The couple was charged with assault and battery on a person over 60.

DeFreidas was also charged on two outstanding warrants from Taunton District Court from 1986 and 1987. One warrant was for larceny of a motor vehicle, carrying a dangerous weapon, operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. The other was for being a fugitive from justice.

The incident started over a family dispute over the amount of alcohol the younger couple had consumed. The verbal fight became physical and spilled into the street. The two defendants were treated at Nashoba Valley Medical Center. The father didn’t require medical treatment.

DeFreidas was held without bail. Frassica was held on $540 bail.
