PEPPERELL –William Edwin Blood, Sr., a lifelong Pepperell resident, passed away at Saints Medical Center, after a lengthy illness. He was 67 years old.
William was born in Pepperell on Oct. 20, 1942, a son of Clarence and Arlene (Gillogly) Blood. He was educated in Pepperell schools.
Bill worked in the paper mill industry for many years, first at Bemis in Pepperell and later at Hollingsworth & Vose in West Groton. He was a very hard working man, often putting in 80-hour work weeks. He was a true family man, raising his family and giving them everything he could.
Bill enjoyed camping and traveling to the White Mountains of New Hampshire on vacations. He was a huge drag racing fan and enjoyed NHRA drag racing. Bill was very fond of his dog, Lucy.
The love of Papa’s life was his great granddaughter Madelynn. She was his whole world.
Surviving Bill are his daughter, Lisa McOsker of Lowell; his son, William E. Blood, Jr. and his longtime companion, Mary Clement of Pepperell; two granddaughters, Catherine Blood and her fiance Dylan Racicot of Lowell, and Kristen Toupin of Pepperell; his great granddaughter, Madelynn Racicot of Lowell; two sisters, Linda Martin and her husband George of New Hampshire, and Pearl Brumette of Louisiana; three nephews, one niece, and his best friends for 35 years, Harold and Diane Whitney of Groton. Bill is also survived by his former spouse, Catherine Nina Farris.
