Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church of Groton is excited to announce that we have called Pastor Giuseppe Mattei.
Pastor Mattei arrived on March 21, 2010. He and his family moved from Folsom, N.J. He arrived just in time for the start of Holy Week.
Pastor Mattei came to Shepherd of the Valley with 20 years of experience. He was born and raised in Naples, Italy. He was ordained in 1988. He has worked in the midwest and most recently in New Jersey. He and his wife Stephanie have three children. He speaks three languages, English, Italian and Spanish. Through the years he has developed a strong passion for spiritual life coaching, conflict mediation and social justice issues. Pastor Mattei is very eager to join Shepherd of the Valley in its current service projects and look for ways to increase their presence in the community helping people.
Shepherd of the Valley is located on 80 Champney Street, Groton. Church services are Sunday at 10:15 a.m. Sunday school is 9 a.m.
April 2 will host a Good Friday Tenebrae service at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday night there will be an Easter Vigil at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 4 is Easter. There are two services, 8:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Come join us and find out what all the excitement is about.
