SHIRLEY — Frank Devan, the chair of the Shirley Republican Town Committee is pleased to announce that the Town Committee has organized two candidates forums;

Our first forum will be between the four announced candidates for the Fifth Congressional District and will take place at the Hazen Memorial Library, Keady Way, Shirley, on Saturday, April 3 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The candidates will have a three-minute opening statement, followed by a series of questions on issues of the day asked by the Chair, and will have a two-minute response to each question. Each candidate will have closing remarks and then be able to meet the gathered crowd and media for additional questions or conversation.

The announced candidates in attendance will be: Jon Golnik, Carlisle; Sam Meas, Haverhill; Robert Shapiro, Andover; Tom Weaver, Westford.

Our second forum will be between the two candidates challenging for Governor, and will take place at the Hazen Memorial Library, Keady Way, Shirley, on Saturday, April 10 from 10:45 a.m. to noon. The candidates will have a three-minute opening statement, followed by a series of questions on issues of the day, asked by the Chair, and will have a two-minute response to each question.

Each candidate will have closing remarks and then be able to meet the gathered crowd and media for additional questions or conversation.

The announced candidates in attendance will be Charlie Baker and Christy Mihos.

Devan stated “We believe that it is the duty of anyone running for elective office, that wants to be honored with a vote, to appear at events like these and inform the electorate on their plans to address the challenges and issues of the day. We are pleased that in both of these important races the challengers have agreed to show up and honor that commitment.”
