AYER — Marie Cote Davis, 55, of Santa Rosa, Calif., passed away on March 19, 2010, at her home after a courageous battle with AML Leukemia. She was the beloved wife of 25 years of Henry Davis of West Boylston and daughter of Mary A Cote and the late Robert G. Cote, Sr. of Ayer.
She leaves three children, Kurt, Maggie and Anna of Santa Rosa; a sister, Kathleen A. French of Ayer, wife of Roger; and two brothers, Robert Cote of Ayer and James Cote and wife Sue of Lunenburg; three sisters-in-law, Cathy of Washington D.C., Mary & Betty of Maine; one brother-in-law, James and wife Debbie of N.H.; as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Marie was born in Ayer, MA on Nov. 9, 1954 and has lived in Santa Rosa. She attended Ayer High School, Class of 1972, where she was a standout shortstop who received the Most Valuable Player award for the year. Baseball continued into her adult years where she coached town teams both in Ayer and Santa Rosa. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. She was employed at Digital Equipment in Maynard where she met her husband.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, 31 Shirley St. in Ayer at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 8. Internment at St. Mary Cemetery.
