First responders should be applauded for flood efforts

PUBLISHED: | UPDATED:

Last week’s rainy weather tried the patience of the most tolerant New Englander. Flooded basements and roads, detours and traffic backups were the norm in Groton and surrounding towns.

As a health-care facility, it was imperative that we at Seven Hills Pediatric Center were kept up-to-date on the status of access roads to and from our facility, not just for our staff but for emergency vehicles and parents as well.

We would like to publicly thank the Groton and Pepperell Police departments for the many, many updates we received throughout the four days of rain. With their help, we were able to keep employees, parents and emergency vehicles informed of the safest routes to our facility.

Our local police should be applauded for their assistance, not only to Seven Hills Pediatric Center, but to all residents of the community.
