Pet Food & Supply Drive

Second grade Brownie Troop #34014 is sponsoring a pet food & supply drive. We are looking for donations of pet supplies, including canned or dry IAMS & Fancy Feast (turkey or chicken), new collars or leashes, non-clumping clay cat litter, and new cat or dog beds. Cleaning and medical supplies (latex/non-latex gloves, Q-tips) would also be appreciated. Donations may be brought to collection boxes at Donelan’s of Pepperell, Pet-i-cure, and the Lawrence Library through March 9. All items collected will be donated to local charities.

Town Meetings set

The Board of Selectmen wishes to announce the date of the Annual/Special Town Meeting, Monday May 3, 2010 (and Tuesday May, 4 2010 if needed) 7:30 p.m., Nissitissit Middle School, Articles are due to the Board of Selectmen no later than 3 p.m. on March 4, 2010

Scholarships applications now being accepted

The Pepperell Women’s Club is now accepting scholarship applications from high school seniors that will be graduating in 2010 who are residents of Pepperell and will be continuing their education in the fall.

Seniors who attend either North Middlesex Regional High School or Nashoba Valley Technical in Westford can contact their respective guidance office to receive a copy of the application package.

All other high school seniors can contact for further information.

Baby-sitting Nights!

This fun-filled event is a perfect time for your children to have a chance to socialize among peers while you have a few hours to yourself. The event will take place at North Middlesex Regional High School, and drop off will be in the back circle near the Administration Building. The price is $15 per child, and $40 dollars for 3. Also, for $50 you can send your child for all six baby-sitting evenings!

We are a group of 33 students fundraising to travel to Louisiana. We will be working in New Orleans, rebuilding the damage from Katrina, which after four years is still devastating. Ours is a worthy cause and we hope that you will support us in our efforts. Jonathan Edwards Trio

to benefit Project Graduation

Nationally known recording artist, Jonathan Edwards (, will be performing with the Jonathan Edwards Trio on March 13 in a fundraiser concert presented by the Project Graduation Parent Group. The show will be at Nissitissit Middle School at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 each and are available at the North Middlesex Regional High School, at the Pepperell Music Center, and other locations in Townsend (Evans on the Common, The Townsend House Tavern, Klever Klippers Hair Salon) and Ashby (31 Store).

Please join in on a fun adult night out to support Project Graduation. This will be a great show for a great cause.

Love Yoga? You can come to the Center on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. for Yoga with Patsy and Thursdays at 9 a.m. for Yoga with Elise.

Wii Sports continues with bowling on Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. and golf on Fridays at 9:30 a.m.

Singing — with the Hot Shots is at 9:15 on Wednesday mornings.

Lunch — Join our lunches on Wednesdays at noon. There is always something delicious to eat!! Follow lunch with a bit of bingo fun. $1 buys you 3 cards.

Exercise — Monday mornings at 10 a.m. and Friday mornings at 11:30 a.m. with Elaine.

Play harmonica — on Tuesdays at 10 a.m.

Tax Preparation: AARP has volunteers to help seniors complete their tax returns free of charge on Friday mornings from 9-12. Please bring last year’s tax return, W2 forms, 1099 forms, social security benefits statement and any other income or interest statements. If you are filing for Circuit Breaker, bring your 2009 property tax, water and sewer bills with you. The Circuit Breaker is a state refund program for homeowners and people who rent. You could qualify for up to $960 a year. Please call the center (978-433-0326) to make an appointment.
