BOSTON – Word came late Wednesday, October 14 that Acton State Senator Jamie Eldridge has sustained serious injuries in an unspecified accident that occurred last Wednesday, October 7, at his home. Eldridge’ fractured his shoulder, broke several ribs and sustained damage to his vertebrae. His office states that Eldridge faces several surgeries to repair his shoulders and back. As a result, Eldridge will be out of commission for the next few weeks.
Eldridge’s Chief of Staff Neel Chaudhury said, “In the interim, Senator Eldridge’s staff is available to help with all constituent concerns and inquiries regarding legislation. However, it will be several weeks before he will be able to attend public events or respond personally to inquiries. ” Staffers will still monitor incoming concerns at 617-722-1120 and email sent to james.eldridge@state.ma.us.
“Senator Eldridge and his family appreciate your well wishes and patience during this difficult time, and we know he is looking forward to returning to work as soon as possible,” the statement concludes.
