GROTON — This fall the discussion group moderated by Tom Hartnett for the Friends of Groton Elders will open with a difference.

It will meet on Monday, Sept. 28, at the Groton Senior Center at 10:30 a.m. Janet Sheffield, an experienced television photographer, has generously volunteered to tape the occasion for later showing on Groton’s local television station.

Jay Prager, the well-known chairman of Groton’s Finance Committee, will be Mr. Hartnett’s special guest. He will talk about his recent safari of South Africa’s animal refuges and show photos of wild animals and other African scenes. As is customary for the discussion group, there will be ample time for questions and exchange of views.

This meeting is open to all, regardless of age. The Friends’ usual follow-up lunch will not be served this month. However, coffee and pastries will be available.
