NORTH CHELMSFORD — As the Jewish High Holidays approach, Congregation Shalom, a Reform Jewish congregation serving the lower Merrimack and Nashoba valleys, invites the public to attend services. Congregation Shalom is located at 87 Richardson Road in North Chelmsford and is wheelchair accessible.
Rabbi Shoshana Perry says Rosh Hashanah (starts Friday evening, Sept. 18), the Jewish New Year, marks new and sweet beginnings and is a time of celebration with an element of serious introspection. At services, the Jewish community hears the blasts of the Shofar – the ram’s horn – which symbolically serves as a spiritual alarm clock.
