United Parish Yard Sale:The United Parish of Lunenburg will host its annual Yard Sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 4 Main St. (at Mass Avenue). Proceeds will benefit the Montachusett Interfaith Hospitality Network.

Christian Science lecture:A free, one-hour lecture, “Genetics, Immunity, and Christian Science,” will be held at 3 p.m. at the J.V. Fletcher Public Library in Westford. For more information, call 978-502-6137.

Shirley Hoe Down: 1 p.m., Common in Shirley Center. Thirty vendors, five entertainers and the popular dunk tank. Plus plenty of crafts and games along with the bouncy bounce, the crazy hat parade, plants, crafts, flea market item, food choices for lunch, snacks, supper, and leftovers for the next day. The entertainment ends with an old time band concert from 4:30 – 6 p.m. All of this is free.

Benefit dance concert: 8 p.m., Lawrence Academy Dance troupe presents a Fringe Benefit dance concert in the school’s Richardson-Mees Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $5 for children. You can also reserve your tickets online at

“Marion Stoddart: Work of 1000,” Documentary Film Benefit: 7 p.m. at the Kalliroscope Gallery, Groton. Seating limited to 100. Reservations required. Paul and Mimi Matisse are hosting an evening of Wine, Hors D’oeuvres, Gratitude, and Music to honor Massachusetts environmental pioneer and citizen activist Marion Stoddart, and help raise finishing funds for a locally produced documentary that chronicles Stoddart’s inspiring story.

Annual Pow-wow: The public is invited to the Worcester Inter-Tribal Indian Center’s annual Pow-wow to be held at Camp Coldbrook Golf and RV Resort, 864 Old Coldbrook Road (off Route 122, take Fruitland Road to Old Coldbrook Road to campground), Barre, MA, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ($5 fee for parking). St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Ayer: This will be the last day for Sunday School classes. During the Sunday, June 14, service both the Sunday School students and teachers will be honored in a brief ceremony. All families and children are encouraged to attend. Also, there will be a brief Parish Meeting after the 10 a.m. service. On Sunday, July 5, our summer schedule will begin with one service at 9 a.m.

Info night: 6 to 8 p.m., Nashoba @ Night, Nashoba Valley Technical High School’s adult-education program, will host an Information Night for its 100-hours Nursing Assistant Training Program, which it will offer starting in September. Second Saturday series: 7 p.m., The Second Saturday series at the Federated Church of Ayer will be held in the Fellowship Hall of the church at 21 Washington Street in Ayer. This month’s feature presentation will star comedian Mel Simons in his show called “Presciption for Laughter.” Tickets are available at the door or from members. Free-will donations will be accepted.

All are welcome. The newly renovated hall is handicapped accessible from the rear. Refreshments will be served.
