TOWNSEND — The Fire Department will hold its annual firefighters memorial on Sunday at 2 p.m.

The department will assemble at the Spaulding School and march to the Fire Fighter Memorial on the upper common. The Rev. Kevin Patterson, Fire Department chaplain, will preside over the service. Speakers will include the Fire Chief Donald Klein and the president of the Fire-EMS Association.

The service will conclude with the placing of a wreath at the monument in remembrance of those who have gone before. Before the memorial the Fire Department will attend a special church service at the West Townsend Baptist Church at 11 a.m. The public is encouraged to attend and show their support and appreciation for the men and women who protect the community.
