AYER — The Tri-Board Executive Committee has called a full Tri-Board meeting on Tuesday, March 31 at 5:30 p.m. in the professional development room at Page-Hilltop School.

We continue to seek approaches toward closing an estimated $70,000 to $80,000 budget shortfall. The committee and staff continue to work toward presenting a balanced budget proposal; however, all of the data relating to projected state aid and federal stimulus impact may not be known by March 31. It is time, however, to present all of the revenue assumptions, proposed budget cuts, and other impacts to the full Tri-Board and community at large.

After the meeting, the selectmen will host a public hearing on the fiscal year 2010 budget at the same location. Employees, collective bargaining unit representatives, department heads and the general public are all encouraged to attend as further deterioration in revenue will necessarily involve an agency-wide solution.
