Calendar sales

The 2008-2009 Harvard Community Calendar is on sale. The calendars include dates for important civic and schools events as well as photographs of Harvard taken by local ,photographers. calendars are $15 with proceeds to benefit the Harvard PTO. Available through October, calendars can be purchased at Harvard Cleaners, Sorrentos, Westward Orchards and the General Store. Fuel assistance

The town of Harvard has an energy assistance fund to help low-income residents with their energy costs. Eligible residents may apply to the Harvard fund after applying for federal and state aid. Applications will be available at Town Hall or the COA office. For more information on all options for fuel assistance, please call Town Hall or the COA.

New Year’s hike

Join the Harvard Conservation Trust for its Annual New Year’s Day Walk at noon on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, in the Delaney Wildlife Management Area. Meet in Stow at the parking lot by Harvard Road Boat Ramp between October Lane and Kirkland Drive for cookies and hot cocoa. Join friends from Harvard, Bolton and Stow for a hike (skis or snowshoes OK, weather permitting) with an eye for winter wildlife tracking. Plan to walk — rain, snow or shine. Family friendly.
