PEPPERELL — John F. Ambrosini Jr., died on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, at the Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer. He was born in Goffstown, N.H. on Dec. 30, 1935, son of the late John F. and Evelyn (Weir) Ambrosini. He spent his early life in Pepperell where he attended the schools.

A veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean War, he served aboard the destroyers USS Beatty, USS Furse and the USS K.D. Bailey. After his enlistment in the Navy, he also served in the United States Air Force.

A truck driver most of his life, working for several companies, he had had most recently had been employed at Roy Brothers of Billerica and was a member of Teamsters local 49.

A long-time Pepperell resident, he also served as a past commander of the Pepperell Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3291.

Besides his love of country and his longtime membership at the VFW, Mr. Ambrosini was a longtime New York Yankees fan.

He is survived by his children, Debra J. McGlynn, of Ponce Inlet, Fla., Michael J. Ambrosini, of Peterborough, N.H., and Karen P. Ambrosini, of Pepperell; three grandchildren, Jeffrey, Krystal and Jennifer Ambrosini; two sisters, Roberta Gibson, of Hull, and Claire Yeaton of Manchester, N.H.; as well as his longtime friends and fellow veterans at the VFW.
