GROTON — Betty L. Groff, 86, passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, at the Life Care Center of Acton. Betty was born on May 14, 1922, in East Lumberton, N.C., the daughter of the late Major B. and Essie Ward. She is survived by her two daughters, Carole Watson and her husband, Bob, of Groton, and Denise Parcher and her husband, Ken, of Canby, Ore.

She was the grandmother of three: Cheri Crowell and her husband, John, of Chelmsford; Charles Parcher and his wife, Libby, of Canby, Ore.; and Corrinna Moody and her husband, David, of Bothell, Wash. Betty was also the great-grandmother of six: Griffin and Logan Crowell, of Chelmsford; Kyle and Austin Parcher, of Canby, Ore.; and Branden and Justin Moody, of Bothell, Wash.

Betty loved the time spent with John Quintin and all her friends at the Senior Center, along with dancing, traveling and socializing. She also loved the time she was able to spend with her family, especially her great-grandsons, Griffin and Logan Crowell.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who knew her.

Services and burial will be private.

Donations in her memory can be made to the Groton Senior Center. Arrangements were handled for the family by the Badger Funeral Home, Groton.
