TOWNSEND — If you are still looking for that “just right” holiday gift, the “Our Town” afghans might just be the answer.
These high quality, very durable 100 percent pre-washed cotton afghans, machine washable and made in the USA by Riddle Mfg. Inc. of Burlington, North Carolina, are sold exclusively by the Townsend Woman’s Club.
The afghans measure 50-by-65 inches and come in cranberry red, Williamsburg blue and hunter green. The cost is $45 each.
The Townsend scenes featured are: Townsend Common Bandstand, Hart Free Library, Stone Bridge in West Townsend, Old Meeting House, West Townsend Reading Room, Spaulding Memorial School and, in the center of the afghan, Memorial Hall.
To purchase an afghan, call Ginny Welch at 978-597-6651.
The club last met on Dec. 9 with President Linda Matson calling the meeting to order. Guest speaker Dixie Pickard, from The Bronze Bell in Pepperell, taught members how to make a Christmas centerpiece.
At this their Christmas meeting, members brought unwrapped gifts to donate to Townsend Ecumenical Outreach for Christmas distribution, and personal care items to donate to the club’s veterans program.
New members and visitors are always welcome to meetings of the Townsend Woman’s Club.
