GROTON — The Middle School South, 344 Main Street, becomes a Winter Wonderland on Saturday, Dec. 13 as the Florence Roche-Boutwell PTA holds its biggest annual holiday fair yet. Lasting from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the holiday fair is the PTA’s major fund-raiser, helping pay for teacher grade-level grants and enrichment programs.
A highlight of the fair is the Children’s Holiday Concert, performed by each grade level. The kindergarten will take the stage first at 10:30 a.m., followed by first-graders and multi-age at 11:30, second grade at 12:30 p.m., third grade at 1:30, and fourth grade at 2:30 p.m.
This year’s extravaganza promises to give families 1,500 reasons to do their holiday shopping at the Holiday Fair. Featuring gifts ranging from limited edition Red Sox and Patriots fleece items to crafts to toys to sporting goods, there are low to moderately priced presents for all.
“PTA Elves have been tinkering all fall to create a fantastic shopping spree for children and adults,” Holiday Fair Chairman Sarah Abrahamsen said. “Bring your list and a large open basket to hold lots of stuff!”
Returning is the ever-popular theme basket raffle, children’s raffles, plus a wide variety of hot food, drinks and desserts. There are also settings for some great holiday photos of the kids — bring along a camera.
This year’s fair will also include a used book sale. The PTA is accepting donations of good condition, gently used books, CDs, and DVDs each day from Dec. 8-12 at the Middle School South from 9-10 a.m.
