hole-in-one

WESTFORD — A hole-in-one could equal $1,000 for a lucky local resident.

And the winner doesn’t even have to be a golfer.

Nashoba Valley Technical High School is holding a Golf Ball Drop to raise money for the school’s Skills USA team, members of which compete in technical contests in the district, state and nation.

During halftime of the Thanksgiving Day game, on Wednesday night, Nov. 26, golf balls will be dropped from a Westford Fire Department bucket truck onto the football field. The owner of the first ball that drops into the hole will win $1,000. If more than one ball goes into the hole, those balls will be dropped again, and the closest to the hole wins. If no ball goes into the hole, the ball closest to the hole wins.

Golf balls cost $10 for one, $25 for three, $40 for five, and $100 for 13. Participants need not be present to win. If 500 balls are not sold, the grand-prize winner will receive $500.

For more information on the Golf Ball Drop, go to www.nashobatech.net, call (978) 692-4711, ext. 6142, or 2-mail dmcmahon@nashoba.tec.ma.us.
