Fourth annual AEF Lip Sync rocked the house once again

PUBLISHED: | UPDATED:

On a warm and foggy Saturday night, over 100 students (plus some teachers and parents) in the Ayer school district lip-synched their hearts out to a crowd of 800 enthusiastic family members, teachers and friends. The children took the stage with vim and vigor, and brought down the house at the Ayer Education Foundation’s fourth annual Lip Sync, held Nov. 15.

The Ayer school community is a strong one, and because of their unswerving loyalty and support, the AEF Lip Sync was able to raise over $3,000. This money will go toward funding educational enrichment programs in Ayer public schools — since its inception in 2004, the AEF has awarded 85 educational grants that support or extend the curriculum at Page Hilltop School and Ayer Middle-High School.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the “behind the scenes” crew who worked so diligently for many months to help make the Lip Sync a fun and successful event. Thank you to: Sue DeBassio, who produces the lip sync show, soup to nuts; Doug Becker of Ayer Public Access Cable with help from Joey DeBassio, Charlie Comeau and Zachary Washington, who made the music and lights show simply dazzling; master of ceremonies Mark Jenkins, a senior at Ayer High School with a definite future as a TV personality; Kyle Ford, David Cowley and Paul Cadle, for coaching each act before they entered the stage; David Bremer, show photographer extraordinaire; Don Swope and the Ayer Middle-High School Communication and Broadcasting Club for filming the show for Channel 9; everyone who volunteered their time and talents to this year’s show; and especially a wholehearted “thank you” to those remarkable participants!

As we approach the Thanksgiving season, we reflect on the people who have touched our lives and that is all of you, the Ayer students, teachers and families.

With sincere appreciation,

AYER EDUCATION FOUNDATION
