AYER — The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved the renewal of licenses for common victualer, amusement, Sunday entertainment and automotive Classes I, II and III.

The only license that is not being renewed at this time is the amusement license for McDonald’s on Sandy Pond Road, for $550, pending the clean-up of trash along the roadway up to the railroad tracks.

“One of the things concerning McDonald’s was the trash, which they are supposed to take care of,” Selectman Cornelius “Connie” Sullivan said. “I think we should not renew the license until we talk to someone in their headquarters about cleaning up the trash.”

Selectman Gary Luca did not agree with holding up the license but ultimately voted with his colleagues. — Gayle Simone
