Brush dump: The Ayer brush dump, located behind the Department of Public Works building, will be open on four weekends in November, beginning Nov. 8, to accommodate fall yard clean-up. The brush dump will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with access through the gate on Bishop Road. The brush dump is for leaves, brush, etc.; no paper or plastic bags can be left in the brush dump and no trash is permitted. Use of the brush dump is for Ayer residents only. You must have a green or blue transfer station sticker on your vehicle. If you have questions or need more information, please contact the DPW office at (978) 772-8240.
Mohegan Sun: The Ayer Masonic Association will be hosting a trip to the Indian Cultural Center (Mohegan Sun) in Uncasville, Connecticut on Saturday, Nov. 8. The public is welcome. Masons: The Regular Communication of Caleb Butler Lodge will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Masonic Apartments on Sculley Road in Ayer for the dispatch of business. We will receive RW William Rudolph Currier, DDGM 14th Masonic District and his suite at 8 p.m. for the Annual Meeting and reports of the Secretary, Treasurer and Trustees. The dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. and will consist of a beef stew dinner complete with salad and fixins.Reservations are a MUST by Nov. 7.
