PEPPERELL — Country Kimberly has done it again, adding another string of awards to her already lengthy list.

Earlier this year she earned a handful of awards from the New England Country Music Organization (NECMO, www.necmo.net) a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization established in 2006 for the purpose of educating, promoting and preserving the enjoyment and continuing advancement of gospel, bluegrass and country music and dance.

NECMO held their third annual Country Star Search in May 2008. “Country Kimberly” Pillsbury took home five trophies, winning Female Vocalist of the Year in Traditional style, Female Entertainer of the Year in Traditional style and again in New Country style, and Duo of the Year in both Traditional and New Country style along with Hank Martin. She also won Most Promising Female Vocalist in New Country.

Kimberly, formerly of Pepperell, competed in the 2008 Northeast Invitational Country Showdown on Oct. 11. This competition gave winners of the four northeastern states a chance to compete against each other. Kimberly won Female Vocalist in Traditional style and Female Entertainer in Traditional style. She also won Vocal Duo with her singing partner, Hank Martin.

Kimberly competed in the New Hampshire Country Music Association in 2005 and won Most Promising Female Vocalist in Traditional style and in New Country style. She then went on to enter NECMO’s first Country Star Search and won Female Vocalist of the Year in both Traditional and New Country style, along with 2007 Female Entertainer of the Year in both Traditional and New Country style. In 2008, she won Female Vocalist of the Year in Traditional and Female Entertainer of the Year in both Traditional and New Country. Kimberly has participated in the national competition at the North America Country Music Association International’s (NACMAI) Country Music Week for three years in a row and will be going down to Tennessee to compete again in March 2009.

Kimberly will be appearing on the WCCA TV — Peoples Channel 13 — program called Band-Edge on Nov. 10 at 5:30 p.m. She has also been on radio station WICN 90.5 FM with Troy Tyree of American Roots Radio.
