DEVENS The fourth annual Devens Charity Chili Cook-Off was a great success! Sixteen contestants competed on Sunday, Oct. 12 on Devens Common for the first-place trophy. All the chili was outstanding! The first-place trophy went to contestant No. 3, Pam and Butch Bisson, of Pepperell, and the second-place trophy went to contestant No. 5, Brian Hanson from Ayer and Kevin Scott from Pepperell.
With well over 500 people in attendance, it was a beautiful day on Devens Common under sunny skies! Everyone had a great time listening to the three bands and all the kids had fun getting their faces painted, jumping in the moon bounce and playing disc golf!
Thanks to our sponsors, the Devens Grill, Health Alliance Hospital and the Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce; over $8,000 was raised for children affected by autism. The proceeds were sent to The Autism Resource Center of Central Massachusetts in Worcester. We all had a great day for a great cause!
