AYER — The Board of Selectmen has reached a three-year contract extension with Town Administrator Shaun Suhoski.

With the agreement, reached June 24, Suhoski will serve as town administrator until June 30, 2011, and boosts his annual salary from $77,694 in 2007 to $84,376 in 2009. However, the new contract eliminates the educational reimbursement of up to $3,600 annually. The increase in the salary will be funded within the existing budget approved by town meeting in May, according to Selectmen Chairman Carolyn McCreary.

“The contract furthers the board’s goal of making all contracts as transparent as possible,” she said at the July 1 board meeting. “The board recognizes Mr. Suhoski’s ability to communicate with the public and town employees, his integrity and his leadership in problem-solving. We look forward to continuing our partnership.” — Gayle Simone
