TYS benefit

GROTON — The Stagecoach Inn will host a family barbecue and fun day on Saturday, July 19 to benefit Townsend Youth Sports. (Rain date is Sunday, July 20.)

The event will feature swimming, raffles, games and a barbecue for the whole family from 2 to 6 p.m. Live music by Country Dave will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids (under age 12) and are available at McNabb’s Pharmacy, Sovereign Bank at the Harbor Mall and at the Townsend town clerk’s office.

The Stagecoach Inn is located on Main Street (Route 119) in Groton.

High School Musical

GARDNER — The wait is over! Theatre at the Mount’s production of Disney’s High School Musical opens on Aug. 8 for six performances only. Based on the wildly popular Disney Channel Original Movie, Disney’s High School Musical follows Gabriella, a shy, brainy new student and Troy, the captain of the basketball team, as they discover a love for singing and audition for their high school musical. Their attempt to break out of their cliques turns the world and their school upside down!

Show dates for Disney’s High School Musical are Aug. 8, 9, 15 and 16 at 8 p.m. and Aug. 10 and 17 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 for evenings, $15 for matinees, and $10 for children ages 16 and under. For tickets visit theatre.mwcc.edu, or call the TAM box office at (978) 632-2403.

Art on display

AYER — Nashoba Valley Artists will have their works on display at the Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer, now and through August.

Nashoba Valley Artists enjoy painting together in various locations with selected teachers. They are now in their fourth year of exhibiting works on paper or canvas in two dimensions using watercolor, oils, pastel and ink. They are pleased to have this opportunity to exhibit their work.

Artists currently exhibiting include Barbara Badstubner, Sue Benoit, Nancy Dey, Nancy Fleury-Crochiere, Shirley Man and Peggy McWade.

Bulbs and perennials

WESTFORD — The Middlesex Conservation District, a nonprofit environmental agency, will be holding its annual Fall Bulb and Perennial Sale on Friday, Sept. 19, 3-6 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 20, 8 a.m. to noon, at the 4-H Fairgrounds, 51 South Chelmsford Road, Westford.

All items may be ordered in advance for best selection and picked up on the sale days. Items will include tulips, daffodils, unusual bulbs, perennials and garden supplies (compost bins, fertilizer, etc.).

Rocky Acres Festival

STERLING — Rocky Acres Farm presents its annual public music and farm festival day on Sept. 13, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sept. 14, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come enjoy a relaxing day on the farm listening to great bluegrass and country music, free pumpkin picking, free children’s activities and tractor rides, good food and much more.

Tickets for Saturday are $30 with children 12 and under free, while Sunday tickets are $20, again with children 12 and under free. Weekend passes are available for $50.

Camping is available Saturday night with a weekend pass only. Tickets purchased by Aug. 31 are $5 off. For a barbecue meal, add $10 per person per day.

Puppet theater

LUNENBURG — The Drawbridge Puppet Theater, 1335 Massachusetts Ave. in Lunenburg, presents “The Carnival of the Animals” and “Goldilocks & the Three Bears" using shadow and hand puppets throughout July. This show is most appropriate for ages 3 and up.

Public show times are held every Friday at 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Performances are also held at 11 a.m. on Wednesdays through July and August.
