TOWNSEND — Michael C. Holden, 25, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 25, 2008.

He was born in Fitchburg, on April 9, 1983, and lived in Townsend for most of his life. Michael attended North Middlesex Regional High School. He was currently working at Lakeview Landscaping Co. in Lunenburg. His favorite things to do were to hang out with friends and family, have a good time, and quote his favorite movies, such as “Talladega Nights” and “Dumb and Dumber.” He was the oldest of four kids, whom he always watched out for. He was the biggest kid that anyone could have known. He was most happy making jokes and making people laugh. Michael almost always had a smile in his eyes and on his face. His favorite food was his grandmother’s slop.

Even as an avid Yankees fan he did go to Fenway Park and watch a Red Sox game. His favorite football team was the Miami Dolphins but he was also a Patriots fan. He also loved the Cleveland Cavaliers but was thrilled when the Celtics won the finals. His favorite music was country and rock and roll. He always did his best to help people out, even in the times he knew there was nothing he could do. In his mind nothing was impossible and if there was a way, he would find it.

He leaves behind many loving family members and many friends, including his mother, Lola (Matthes) Holden, of Townsend; his father, Michael J. Holden and his companion, Rose DeCarlo, and her children, Justin and Brittney, of Fitchburg; his sisters, Jessica L. Holden and Ryan, and Ashley K. Holden and Pat, both of Lunenburg; and a brother, Jonathan A. Braga and Lisa, of Pepperell; his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Katherine Gyles, of Townsend; his paternal grandparents, Philip and Jo Anne Holden, of Townsend; his maternal great-grandmother, Prudence Harris, of Shirley; his paternal great-grandmother, Ivy Carabba, of Leominster; and his girlfriend, Ashley Evans. Aunts and uncles Michael leaves behind are Jay and Barbara Matthes, of Townsend; Charlie and Laurie McKeithen, of North Carolina; Jim and Lisa Allen, of Templeton; Deron and Amy McInerney, of Acton; and Bud and Jen Gyles, of Lunenburg. Cousins Michael leaves behind Josh, Nate, Jordan, Ben, Dustin, Ian, Austin, Erin, Taylor, Brian, Maggie, Paige, Sam, Heather, Antonette, Janelle, Isabelle, Zoe, Lily, Rachel, Brian, Cody, Jennifer, Ashley, Mandi, Billy, Anita, Melissa and Joe. Michael was predeceased by his uncle, Kevin Patrick Holden.

Michael, we love you dearly and miss you more than you would ever know.

A funeral was held on Tuesday, July 1, in the Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, followed by burial in the Center Cemetery in Shirley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donation in his memory will be accepted. Visit www.masciarellifamilyfuneralhomes.net.
